Power Tips - Using TextMail with Google Gmail
Step 1: Register you TextMail address
- After logging in go to Settings.
- Select "Forwarding and POP"
- Select "Forward a copy of incoming mail to"
- Enter the email address for your TextMail, which is one of the following:
- 12digitmobilephonenumber@mysmart.com.ph (i.e. 639181234567@mysmart.com.ph)
- yourname@mysmart.com.ph if you have registered.
(You can also forward only some of your mail by creating a filter and by skipping 2 - 4 above.)
Step 2: Define Messages to Forward
- Click "creating a filter".
- Set the filter parameters to determine which messages should be forwarded to your TextMail . Only messages meeting all criteria of the filter will be forwarded to your TextMail.
- In the "From" header field enter the email address for anyone whose messages should be forwarded to your TextMail .
- If you want to receive messages that were also sent to other recipients enter their email address in the "To" header field.
- In the "Subject" field, type a word or phrase that should be contained in the Subject of messages forwarded to your TextMail.
- If you want messages forwarded that contain certain words or phrases in the body of the email messages, enter the words or phrases in the "Has the words" field.
- If you want messages forwarded that do not contain certain words or phrases in the body of the email messages, enter the words or phrases in the "Doesnt have" field.
- Click "Next Step".
- Select "Forward it to"
- Enter the email address for your TextMail, which is on of the following:
- 12digitmobilephonenumber@mysmart.com.ph (i.e. 639181234567@mysmart.com.ph)
- yourname@mysmart.com.ph if you have registered.
Step 3: Finalize New Rule
- Click the "Create a Filter" button to save the filter settings you created. The new filter will now appear on the "Filters" page.
(Please note that the Sender or the address appearing in "From" header field in your filters is in your TextMail Address Book.)
